Location. The hilltop Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl is located in Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany, overlooking the Bavarian Alps. Set among baroque churches and picturesque houses decorated with wall frescoes, the hotel is four kilometres from Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain. The hotel is four kilometres from the conference centre and Garmisch Partenkirchen station.
Hotel Features. The picturesque Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl has a red tiled roof and yellow facade, and is set among woodland on a Bavarian hillside. Multilingual 24 hour front desk staff are on hand to assist guests. Complimentary parking is available.
The Blauer Salon serves international and seasonal dishes amid its blue, Imperial style decor. Traditional Austrian cuisine is on the menu in the Heurigen Restaurant which also specialises in Austrian wines. In warmer months, alfresco dining is possible on the lantern lit roof terrace, which enjoys views of the Bavarian Alps. Creative cocktails and wines are available in the Peacock Bar. The hotel provides complimentary buffet breakfasts.
The Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl has meeting rooms for small groups, secretarial services, and dial up Internet connections in public areas (surcharge). There are banquet facilities for functions.

From Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC):
Distance to Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl is 125 kilometres, approximately 90 minutes' drive.
Getting there. The airport's train station is located between the two terminals on the basement level. The S8 and S1 S Bahn trains leave every 20 minutes for Munich's main train station (Hauptbahnhof). Journey time is about 45 minutes, and single tickets cost 8.80 EUR. Tickets must be validated prior to travelling. The Lufthansa Airport bus runs to the Hauptbahnhof every 20 minutes, and the single fare is 9.50 EUR. Taxis to the city centre cost around 55 EUR 65 EUR. From Hauptbahnhof, trains depart for Garmisch Partenkirchen station, four kilometres from the hotel. Taxis are also available outside the terminal. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The hotel is on Burgstrasse. To explore the region, a car is recommended but much of the surrounding area and woodland can be explored by bicycle. Complimentary parking is available at the hotel.
Driving directions. From Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC):
Take the motorway to Munich and follow the city highway.
Drive through Munich on the A95 in the direction of Garmisch Partenkirchen.
Join the B2 to Garmisch Partenkirchen, where the hotel is located.
