Location. The Design Hotel Eifel is located in the centre of Euskirchen, Germany, 11 kilometres from the volcanic and moorland landscapes of the Eifel Plateau and 25 kilometres from Bonn.
Hotel Features. With an eclectic decor of classical and contemporary kitsch, the three storey Design Hotel Eifel has a lively and colourful atmosphere. Hotel amenities include a restaurant and bar, fitness suite with steam room and sauna, and complimentary airport transfer. Safe deposit boxes are located at the 24 hour front desk where an express check in/check out service is in operation and staff can assist with travel and tourist arrangements. Coffee and complimentary newspapers are offered in the lobby. Complimentary parking is available.
A buffet breakfast is served each morning (surcharge). Lunch and dinner menus at Think Big Bistrorant feature German and Italian specialities. Decor is busy with tartan carpeting, throw rugs, classic and contemporary style furniture, ceiling murals, and heavy draperies.
Yoga sessions are offered on site and complimentary bicycles can be hired at the front desk.
Guestrooms. The 28 air conditioned guestrooms at Design Hotel Eifel have individual decor with primary colours. A variety of themes, from space exploration to medieval life, is expressed through vibrant wall murals. Expert Tip. With more than two dozen castles in the immediate area, the district of Euskirchen has more castles than anywhere else in Germany. Dating from the 14th century, Satzvey Castle is the perfect backdrop for historical events throughout the year, including medieval fairs, jousting tournaments, and renaissance markets.

From Cologne Bonn Konrad Airport (CGN):
Distance to the Design Hotel Eifel is 45 kilometres, approximately 45 minutes' drive.
Getting there. High speed trains and the regional S Bahn run between the airport railway station and Cologne Hauptbahnhof (central station) every 30 minutes. The fare for a single ticket is 2.10 EUR, and the journey time is 18 minutes. Trains run from Cologne to Euskirchen. The number 170 bus runs to the Hauptbahnhof and Cologne city centre five times an hour. The fare is 5 EUR for a single ticket. Taxis wait outside Terminals 1 and 2, and cost about 55 EUR to Euskirchen. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. City buses run throughout Euskirchen. A transferable ticket (VRS) entitles travellers to use all transport facilities, including the underground, buses, trams, and RB (RegionalBahn), RE (RegionalExpress) and S (S Bahn) trains. Train only tickets can also be purchased.
