Location. Sir Sam's Inn & WaterSpa, an Ontario's Finest Inn, is an adults oriented resort located in the Haliburton Highlands cottage country near Eagle Lake, Ontario, Canada. This lodging is surrounded by quaint villages, majestic hills and more than 6,000 lakes. The Haliburton Wildlife Center and several golf courses are near the hotel.
Hotel Features. Sir Sam's Inn & WaterSpa was once the estate of Sir Samuel Hughes, the government minister who led Canada's military during WWI. This stone and timber mansion is constructed along Eagle Lake's scenic shoreline. New menus are introduced each evening at Twin Fires restaurant, and include appetizers such as pan seared sea scallops with mango chardonnay butter sauce, and entr�es that include gilled tournedos of Yukon Caribou with Pinot Noir and Wild Blueberry Jus. Gunner's Pub offers billiards and darts. A wing of this hotel is dedicated to function space with a capacity of up to 50 people. This resort offers all season recreation with a lakeside location and adjacent ski slopes. Leisure pursuits include kayaking, waterskiing, pedal boats, cruises, snowmobile tours and snow skiing. The resort provides use of an outdoor pool and tennis courts. The WaterSpa specializes in body temperature saline water treatments with underwater music and lights. Body care treatments include hot stone therapy, reflexology, aromatherapy, and signature sugar plum masks or cocoa and ginseng body wraps.
Guestrooms. Sir Sam's Inn & WaterSpa's guestrooms reflect modern design with rustic pinewood and contemporary furnishings. All rooms include televisions, DVD and CD players, coffeemakers and minibars. Many accommodations feature balconies or patios with lake views. Guestroom amenities include jetted tubs and fireplaces. Suites feature kitchens, separate living areas and barbecue grills.
Expert Tip. The resort can arrange dog sledding adventures with a nearby tour company. Two hour, half day, full day and multi day sledding packages are available, and may include romantic moonlight tours.
