Location. Rocky Mountain views command the landscape at Vagabond Lodge at Kicking Horse Resort, located in Golden, British Columbia, Canada. Grizzly Bear Refuge is one kilometer from the resort and Cedar Lake is five kilometers away.
Hotel Features. The main floor of this smoke free lodge features a common room with overstuffed couches and chairs, and a crackling fireplace constructed from local river stones. Days begin with complimentary English breakfasts that include fresh breads and yogurts. On selected days, pancakes, French toast, fresh cinnamon buns and homemade muesli are served. The Vagabond Bar features a bar built of hand split Douglas Fir logs. This property offers complimentary wireless Internet access and dial up Internet access is available. A game room features billiards and the hotel's only television, which offers satellite channels. The ground floor contains storage for skis and snowboards. A spa tub offers soothing relaxation.
Guestrooms. This two story lodge offers 10 guestrooms decorated in earth tones and black and white photographs rendered by a local mountain artist. Beds have 300 thread count cotton linens, feather beds and duvets. Rather than closets, the rooms contain antique armoires. Large windows open and feature views of the Rocky Mountains. Tiled bathrooms provide comfort with heated floors. The guestrooms do not have televisions or telephones. However, cell phones operate within the lodge. Wireless Internet access is complimentary.
Expert Tip. This hotel does not have a liquor license, but guests are welcome to buy alcoholic beverages and keep them in the bar's cooler. As an afternoon treat, the hotel offers freshly baked cookies in the lobby.

Approximate distance to the hotel is 250 kilometers.
Take Provincial Route 2 south toward the City Center.
Take Exit 258 toward Trans Canada Highway/Highway 1.
Stay right at the fork to take Provincial Route 1 west/Trans Canada Highway west.
Follow for approximately 160 kilometers.
Exit at Golden and follow the signs to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.
Turn right after the gondola to reach the lodge.
